Woman says hubby trying to murder her

Lucknow: A woman (29) from Aashiana area accused her husband of attempting to murder her by allegedly mixing poison in her drink. Anjali Verma approached the Aashiana police station on Thursday after undergoing medical treatment for over 10 days. In her complaint, she expressed fear for her life and that of her family. Anjali, a resident of Sharda Nagar, alleged that her husband, a govt employee, attempted to poison her on June 16. She said she was at home when he offered her a drink laced with poison. Soon after consuming it, her condition deteriorated and she was rushed to Lokbandhu Hospital.Anjali later moved to her maternal home in Kanpur to recover. However, she claimed that her husband began threatening her over phone calls from unidentified numbers. Anjali said she had filed a complaint against her husband but agreed to a compromise following pressure from her family.
