Lucknow: Police were shocked when they intercepted two motorcycle-borne miscreants on suspicion of being chain-snatchers. One of them turned out to be a woman identified as Radha (19). The other one was her brother-in-law Mohammed Asif (22).
The stunned cops said for the first time they came across a woman chain snatcher. They disclosed that the motorcycle used in the crime was also stolen by the miscreants. The police recovered gold jewellery and Rs 12,000 in cash from their possession. Police outpost incharge, Umesh Singh, who arrested the duo, said that Radha, who posed herself as a male, used to ride pillion and her main targets were women on morning walk.”
Radha also impersonated herself as a man while selling the stolen jewellery to jewellers.
The police said that they had first spotted the duo in a CCTV footage in SGPGI area and then their bike was traced.
In 2016, Asif fled from a shelter home where he was sent in a kidnapping case.
