LUCKNOW: Two youths died after one of them lost control over a motorcycle and it crashed into the gate of a doctor's home in Alambagh early Friday morning.
Police said the deceased - Gopal Rawat (26) and Rahul Rawat (21) - were heavily drunk and were returning from a party.
Another youth Aman Rawat (26) who was riding pillion along with Gopal and Rahul sustained serious injuries and is undergoing treatment at King George's Medical University (KGMU).
The bike belonged to Rahul and he was driving the two-wheeler.
Police said the
accident occurred around 2am when the three Para residents were returning after attending a wedding in Kakori.
Station house officer (Alambagh) AK Shahi said, "The three youths were inebriated and were not wearing helmets. Their bike crashed into the gate of a house owned by Dr Ranjeet Singh in Gadhi Kanura locality."
While Gopal died on the spot, Aman and Rahul where rushed to KGMU where the latter was announced brought dead.
"Aman is undergoing treatment, but is yet to gain consciousness," the SHO added. Gopal was a painter by profession, while the other two worked as carpenters.
