LUCKNOW: For the first time in the history of the state, Uttar Pradesh government would be showcasing its film policy at the

Cannes International Film Festival

The said film festival is scheduled to be held in Cannes from May 11 to May 22. Giving further information in this regard, member of

UP Film Development Council

Vishal Kapoor said, “A three-member delegation for the first time would be participating at the Cannes International Film Festival.”

He further stated that as per the directions of chief minister Akhilesh Yadav, all the aspects of the film policy would be made known to the film producers, so that all the prominent places of Uttar Pradesh could get a unique identity. Kapoor was also of the view that there is tremendous scope for UP in this field, and people of the state stand to gain, if proper marketing is done.

“This would not only attract foreign tourists to UP, but would also enhance job opportunities for the common public,” Kapoor said. Apart from Kapoor, the two other delegates include Gaurav Dwivedi (vice-president of UP Film Development Council) and Yashraj Singh (member).
