LUCKNOW: A businessman Rajkamal Gupta shot himself dead after opening fire at his daughter Mohini and his sister-in-law Vandana over a trivial family dispute with his wife, in
Sitapur
on Sunday night.
Police said Rajkamal died on spot while Mohini and Vandana are undergoing treatment at KGMU Trauma centre in Lucknow and are critical.
SHO, Pisawan, Bhanu Pratap Singh, said that on Sunday evening a spat broke out at the house of former gram pradhan Ramratan.
“Former pradhan’s son-in-law Rajkamal Gupta had visited the house to take his wife back home. She was staying in her home since Diwali,” said the SHO.
For some reason, the wife refused and it resulted in a verbal spat during which Rajkamal demanded to meet his daughter Mohini. When her mother denied, Rajkamal in a fit of rage shot his daughter and sister-in-law Vandana who came for rescue.
Seeing his daughter in a pool of blood of Rajkamal, shot himself and died on the spot, said the SHO.
