UP man booked for smoking on Indigo flight from Dammam to Lucknow

Mohammad Nasir, a passenger on an IndiGo flight from Dammam to Lucknow, was caught smoking in the aircraft lavatory and subsequently fined. The cabin crew noticed the smell of smoke and alerted authorities after the flight landed. Nasir, a frequent traveler and resident of Lucknow, was handed over to the police and booked for causing a public nuisance.

LUCKNOW: A passenger on IndiGo flight 6E-98 from Dammam to Lucknow was fined on Wednesday after being caught smoking in the aircraft lavatory, officials said.The flyer, identified as Mohammad Nasir, 43.According to police, Nasir, a resident of the old Lucknow area and a labourer who frequently travels abroad, attempted to smoke inside the lavatory during the flight.Cabin crew noticed the smell of smoke and intervened. On landing at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow, Nasir was handed over to airport authorities and later to Sarojini Nagar Police.He was booked under Section 34 of the Police Act for causing public nuisance and fined. Police said he will also be produced before a judicial magistrate.IndiGo has not issued a formal statement on the incident.
