UP BJP names district presidents for Varanasi, Gorakhpur, 3 other districts
Lucknow: In another organisational reshuffle, the UP BJP on Thursday announced the presidents for five more districts, including Varanasi and Gorakhpur Mahanagar.
The party replaced Varanasi district president Hansraj Vishwakarma with Ram Sakal Patel, a Kurmi, after the former was inducted into the council of ministers in the Yogi Adityanath govt earlier this month.
Likewise, in Gorakhpur Mahanagar, the UP BJP appointed Ramesh Gupta in place of Rajesh Gupta.
In Ambedkarnagar, the party replaced Triyambak Tiwari, a Brahmin, with Dilip Dev Patel, a Kurmi. The UP BJP decided to continue with its Chandauli district president Kashinath Singh, a Thakur.
The party replaced its Deoria district president Bhupendra Singh with Kali Prasad, a Dalit. Prasad won the Salempur Assembly seat in the 2017 UP polls.
