An AK-47 rifle reportedly went missing from an armoury of a police station in Siddharth Nagar district.

LUCKNOW: An AK-47 rifle reportedly went missing from an armoury of a police station in Siddharth Nagar district. The superintendent of police suspended five cops, including the station officer of Itwa, on late Monday night. The missing weapon has created a flutter in the district.
ASP (Siddharth Nagar) Munna Lal told TOI that during inspection of weapons at Itwa police station, an AK-47 rifle was found to be missing.

The weapon was reportedly loaded.
"An inquiry under the crime branch has been ordered while an FIR is also being registered," added Lal.
