Lucknow: With the arrest of two persons, the UP STF claimed to have busted an international drug trafficking gang and recovered brown sugar worth Rs 2.5 crore.
The duo-- Budhan Paswan of Bihar and Manish Yadav of Barabanki-- was arrested from Ayodhya highway under Ram Sanehi Ghat police station on Thursday.
Additional superintendent of police, STF, Vishal Vikram Singh, said for the past several days, UPSTF was receiving information about drug smugglers from different states operating in Barabanki.
“Based on this information, local police were alerted, and it made deployments on all possible routes. We found two suspects and rounded them up. On being interrogated, Budhan said he takes drugs from one Javed alias Tabrez and delivers it to Nepal via Bihar.
He has been doing this from last five years. Manish Yadav was his associate and they share the commission they are given by Javed,” said the ASP. TNN
