Lucknow: Chairing a late-evening meeting with senior officials at Gorakhnath temple, chief minister
Yogi Adityanath reviewed ongoing projects in Gorakhpur on Wednesday.
"Construction must be expedited while maintaining the highest quality standards," the CM said directing departments to fast-track projects that have already achieved over two-thirds physical progress and ensure their completion before the onset of the monsoon. He stressed that every project must adhere strictly to its timeline, warning against any negligence or delays at any level.
Highlighting the impact of rains on construction activity, Yogi said maximum work should be completed in the pre-monsoon period to avoid disruptions.
"It must be understood that open construction slows down during rains, so projects should be pushed to completion well in time," he noted.
The CM also reviewed measures to tackle waterlogging, instructing officials to ensure that no part of the city faces flooding during the rainy season. He called for the timely cleaning of drains and asked authorities to expedite the Goddhoiya nala project, which is crucial for improving drainage and preventing water accumulation. He added that while significant progress has been made in recent years, efforts must continue to achieve better outcomes.
During the meeting, Yogi assessed the status of key urban projects, including the heritage corridor and the multi-level parking-cum-commercial complex at Bandhu Singh Park near Ghantaghar.
The CM further emphasised the need for the organised rehabilitation of street vendors. He instructed officials to provide them with designated vending zones equipped with proper facilities, ensuring both convenience and dignity.
