LUCKNOW: Hitting out at critics who accuse the Aam Aadmi Party of giving out freebies, party MP Sanjay Singh has said that Parliamentarians get the most freebies from the taxpayers' money and if these are such a problem, then they should give them up.

As an MP, he said, he is entitled to 5,000 units of free power each month but opposition parties have a problem with AAP giving 300 units of free power to people.

“Power has turned BJP members arrogant. People will teach them a lesson,” he said.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has now made it clear that after his ‘pakoda’ scheme, BJP has a gobar scheme in place to provide employment. The home minister is saying that the government will give laptops to the youth after they clear class 12 and get admission to Intermediate. Where will the country go if it relies on such people?” he said.

Singh was on a tour of Chitrakoot on Thursday.

The party’s UP president

Sabhajeet Singh

said that several senior party members are scheduled to campaign in eastern UP now, starting with Delhi’s deputy chief minister

Manish Sisodia

, minister

Imran Hussain

, and several MLAs.
