LUCKNOW: Distance was just a number for Anoop Verma to take a break from life in oceans and arrive in city to celebrate Bhai Dooj with his sister Honey. "I keep travelling and whenever Honey would call me, I couldn't talk to her. So, this year I have given her a surprise by coming home," said Anoop, who works in merchant navy. Honey is Anoop's ex-classmate.

She did not have a brother and Anoop, too, was a single child, so Honey started tying a Rakhi to him when they were in class I. The story of 63-year-old Ashu Srivastava is poignant. She has two brothers, but celebrated Bhai Dooj with her Rakhi brother Aseem Khan untill 2014 when he passed away. Ashu still observes fast and pays homage to Aseem before she eats on Bhai Dooj.
