SDM attempts to shoot self

LUCKNOW: A 46-year-old sub-divisional magistrate posted in Mathura district attempted suicide by shooting himself from his licensed revolver at his official residence in Maath area on Saturday.
The SDM was identified as Rajeev Gupta posted as SDM, Maath in Mathura district. The bullet hit the temple of Gupta, who was rushed to district hospital.
The police rushed to the spot and started the investigation into the matter.The exact cause of SDM's extreme step could not be ascertained till late in the night. A critically injured SDM was later referred to Kamayani Hospital in Agra district.
