LUCKNOW: A team of Anti-Corruption Organisation (ACO) from Lucknow nabbed a police sub-inspector taking

in Gorakhpur on Thursday.

Police said the complainant Manoj Kumar of Kuri Bazaar had met sub-inspector Ashish Mishra over a criminal case lodged against his brothers at Balaghat police station.

He said that Mishra demanded Rs 40,000 to remove the names of his brothers from a case of trespassing, criminal intimidation and causing miscarriage to a woman. Manoj then contacted the ACO office and a team led by inspector V P Rawat was assigned the case. Mishra was caught red-handed accepting bribe by our team, said superintendent of police (ACO) Rajiv Mehrotra. “We are working on cases relating to bribe in other government offices and more arrests will be made soon,” he added.
