Stage set for a heady blend of poetry, music & theater at Repertwahr
Lucknow: The Repertwahr Festival-Season 12 is back to regale the audience with ‘Rang', ‘Mahol', ‘Zaiqa', and ‘Bazaar' at Janeshwar Mishra Park from Dec 19-22.Session of renowned poet, lyricist and writer Javed Akhtar, musical performances by singer Prateek Kuhad and Agnee band, and comic acts by Gaurav Kapoor and Ravi Gupta, will be the major crowdpullers during the four-day event.Selfie corners and photo booths will be added attractions at the venue which will be decorated with the help of waste material. At least 70 stalls of handicrafts, accessories, home decor, paintings, perfumes, candles, organic products, bakery products and food items will be set up. A separate stage, called ‘Fankaar', will be set up in which 20 artists, six every day, will showcase their talent.On the first day of the event, playback singer Prateek Kuhad and sitarist Chandulal Kalburgi will give a musical performance. On the second day, a play ‘Hind-1957' directed by Feroz Abbas Khan will be staged and a band, Thaikuddam Brigade, will captivate the audience with their musical numbers. A performance by standup comedian Gaurav Kapoor and poetry recital by Azhar Iqbal will be other attractions of the event.A play, ‘Runway Brides', directed by Faezeh Jalali will be staged on the third day of Repertwahr. ‘Trap and Brass' music (called J-Trap) performance by artist Karan Kanchan and standup comedy by Harsh Gujral will the attractions of third day.Sessions with renowned poet, lyricist and writer Javed Akhtar and storyteller Laksh Maheshwari and musical storytelling will be conducted by musician Rahgir.Sessions with actor, poet and storyteller Priya Malik and singer and lyricists Raman Negi, standup comedy by Ravi Gupta, performance by music band Agnee and a play, ‘The F Word' directed by Akarsh Khurana, will be the key attractions of the last day of the event.Organiser Bhoopesh Rai said, "This time, we are coming up with better arrangements and experience for visitors. We are expecting a footfall of 50,000."
