Lucknow: The Lucknow Development Authority (

LDA

) has lodged an FIR against an organiser of a fair which was going on for over three months about two-km away from the Chief Minister’s residence.

Rajesh Raj Gupta

, chief manager of Rainbow Seva Trust, has been booked under Section-26A-1 of the Uttar Pradesh Town Planning and Development Act 1973.
Talking to TOI, additional secretary, LDA,

Gyanendra Verma

said, “We don’t know since when, but a fair was organized after encroaching upon the government land in Jiamau area next to 1090 helpline centre. We came to know about it on Monday. No permission was taken from LDA for the fair.”
According to sources, the fair, titled ‘

Rang Mahotsav

’, started about three months back.

Verma

said, “The organizer had taken a ‘no objection certificate’ from the district magistrate office. However, a major chunk of the area where the fair was organized belongs to the LDA.”
When asked why the LDA took three months to lodge an FIR in the matter, Verma said, “The entire area where the fair was organised does not belong to the LDA. It also led to some delay in initiating action against the encroachers,” he added.
