Probe extremist clerics for misleading youth to terrorism: Kalbe Jawad

LUCKNOW: Joining voices on the recent alleged terror operation in Lucknow, Shia cleric

Maulana Kalbe Jawad

on Friday demanded probe against

Lucknow based clerics

who had previously extended support to ISIS, claiming such acts mislead youth towards extremism. Jawad, who is the general secretary of

Majlis-e-Ulama-e-Hind

(a body of clerics in India) said he was proud of suspected terrorist and slain Saifullah's family refusing to accept his body, proving that Islam had no connect with terrorism.

According to Jawad, Shia and Sufi religious places are not just on the radar of extremists in the country, but also worldwide. This came after the police claimed that the

Bara Imambara

and

Deva Sharif

was suspected to be on the target list of the alleged terrorist. He also said that the country is slowly becoming an active hub of ISIS, the onus of whose action rests on the administration, failing to put a check on extremist clerics.

"If the ISIS flag and Saudi Arabia visa have been recovered from Saifullah's belongings, why is then the police not linking it up with ISIS and taking action against all those clerics in Lucknow who support ISIS through their actions," he said.

Jawad claimed that one of the clerics in Lucknow had earlier written a letter to

Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi

, the said chief of ISIS and another had publicised the flag and map of the said Islamic State. "The target on Islamic pilgrim spots also proves the terrorists in the world over have in fact no connection with Islam whatsoever and to take our places off the map is their ultimate motive," he said.
