Happiness expresses itself in many ways. But when it manifests itself as a smile straight from the heart, even the unspoken word conveys a message. It is this smile which sits pretty on Pooja Bhatt''s lips. Her marriage to TV anchor-turned-hotelier Munish Makhija —aka Udham Singh —has everything to do with it.

"We met, liked each other and decided to get married," shares Pooja.
Over to Mr Right. "Marriage is about a good feeling in the heart. My life has definitely become better," says Munish, who is busy with two TV series: Udham Singh In Pakistan and Slapstick. Yet, he is seemingly skeptical about people in his profession. "They are afraid to cast me as I speak my mind. But that''s my way."

Looking forward to the release of her directorial debut Paap, Pooja is equally forthright. "I love taking risks," she says. "Production is a thankless job; acting is exhausting as one can''t fool the audience. But direction has proved fulfilling for me."

Pooja is upbeat about Pakistani singer Ali Azmat extending a helping hand to lend his voice to one of the songs in her film. "Music has no boundaries. The song is a collaboration between two similar nations and generations." Marriage, of course, is a collaboration of the music of two hearts. Pooja and Munish will play on.
ashok-chatterjee@indiatimes.com
