Poll results show people’s trust in PM Modi, says Yogi

Lucknow: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath, reacting to the historic results of the assembly elections in five states, said the poll outcomes were a symbol of the people’s unwavering trust in Prime Minister Narendra Modi.




Posting on social media platform X, Yogi said that public confidence in the successful leadership and welfare-oriented policies of PM Modi was continuously strengthening.

He said that the BJP alliance forming the govt for the first time in West Bengal, for the third consecutive time in Assam, and for the second time in Puducherry is the result of this deep trust.



This unprecedented mandate from the people will give new momentum to the grand resolve of the Prime Minister for ‘Naya Bharat, Viksit Bharat’.

State BJP president Pankaj Chaudhary congratulated party workers and credited the victory to the leadership of PM Modi. He termed the results a win for “development, good governance and trust-based politics.”

Chaudhary said the party was receiving blessings from people “from Gangotri to Ganga Sagar”. He said that in West Bengal, “politics of fear has been defeated by politics of trust.” Likewise, in Assam, BJP’s “development hat-trick” reflected voters’ preference for “performance-driven” governance.

He further said that the electoral gains in eastern India would energise the party’s preparations for UP’s 'Mission 2027’. “This is just a trailer; the full picture will be seen in 2027 with a hat-trick of good governance,” he remarked.

Highlighting the party’s organisational strength, Chaudhary said BJP workers remain engaged with the public throughout the year and are committed to ensuring that welfare schemes under the “double-engine govt” reach beneficiaries effectively. He added that the party is continuously fine-tuning its electoral preparedness and strengthening its grassroots presence.

BJP state general secretary (organisation), Dharampal Singh said the results reflected the people’s strong faith in nationalism and development. He emphasised that the governance model under PM Modi has earned widespread support across the country.

Deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said West Bengal has become ‘fear-free’.

In a post on X in Hindi, Maurya said, “Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose had once said, “Give me blood, and I will give you freedom.” During the campaign in West Bengal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji also urged the people of the state, “Place your trust in me, I will free you from the TMC’s regime of ‘fear and corruption’. Ultimately, by placing its trust in Modi ji, West Bengal has become ‘fear-free’.”

Maurya also took a jibe at Akhilesh Yadav, saying people are no longer willing to listen to the Samajwadi Party chief.

“People are no longer willing to listen to SP stalwart Akhilesh Yadav. They have pushed his ‘bhaiya’ from Tamil Nadu, M K Stalin, and Bengal’s ‘Didi’ Mamata Banerjee to the margin.



BJP MLA Rajeshwar Singh described the electoral outcome as a “clear mandate in favour of Sanatan values and cultural identity,” along with development and stable governance. Party workers distributed laddoos and celebrated with traditional music, calling the results a reflection of growing public trust in the BJP.

Singh said the results, particularly in West Bengal, signal a decisive political shift where voters have chosen development and governance over instability. He added that mandates in Assam and Puducherry reaffirm continuity and acceptance of grassroots work, while the party’s performance in southern states indicates changing political trends.
