Pathak targets opposition over dynasty politics, appeasement
Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak
Lucknow: Deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak on Monday launched a sharp political attack on opposition parties through a post on X, accusing them of promoting dynasty politics, appeasement and divisive governance. In his statement, Pathak alleged that leaders who inherit power without grassroots struggle cannot understand the challenges faced by individuals from ordinary backgrounds in building a political identity. He said such remarks reflect what he described as a “reactionary and immature political mindset.”The Deputy CM further accused opposition leaders of indulging in appeasement politics, claiming they had distanced themselves from Hindu sentiments. He also criticised what he termed selective political conduct, alleging inconsistency in their stance on cultural and religious issues.Referring to past controversies, Pathak alleged that leaders associated with the opposition had disrespected religious texts like the Ramcharitmanas and questioned their authority to comment on Sanatan traditions. He also targeted the opposition over its “PDA” (Pichhda, Dalit, Alpsankhyak) narrative, raising questions about their commitment to backward classes, Dalits and minorities.
He asserted that Uttar Pradesh is progressing under the leadership of CM Yogi Adityanath and PM Narendra Modi, citing improvements in law and order and ongoing development initiatives.“Rumours cannot change reality, and misinformation cannot drive development. Our focus remains on service, governance and fulfilling public trust,” Pathak said. The remarks come amid intensifying political exchanges in the state ahead of upcoming electoral contests.
