LUCKNOW: The father of BA (Hons) girl student of
Lucknow University, who has accused her classmate of making her MMS, has alleged getting life threat from the accused, Kapil Yadav. The girl's father is a former professor of LU.
On a complaint lodged by the girl, LU proctor Prof UD Mishra on Monday had set up a three-member committee to probe the incident. The committee is headed by lady proctor Shiela MishraKapil Yadav claims his father is a deputy superintendent of police.
The girl has alleged that Kapil used to blackmail her after making the MMS.
"When we reported the matter to the proctor, Kapil threatened me for supporting the girl,'' said a male friend of the victim. He added that Kapil has threatened to upload the video on social networking sites if the complaint was not withdrawn.
"The committee has heard both the sides. We are waiting for the recommendation of head of the department who is currently out of town. The committee's decision is expected within few days,'' said the proctor.
Prof Mishra, however, denied that it is a MMS case. "It appears to be a case involving some messages. But it is too early to make any conclusion. Since Wednesday was a holiday, we will be able to get something concrete on Thursday,'' he said.
The Lucknow University is in news these days following protest by undergraduate students who have alleged anomalies in the evaluation process.
