‘Noida unrest under control, DGP-led team monitoring situation real-time'
Lucknow: DGP Rajeev Krishna and ADG Law and Order Amitabh Yash are monitoring the ongoing labour unrest in Noida and overseeing the situation in real time and issuing necessary directions to field units.
According to officials in the DGP HQ, Noida Police and the local administration are actively engaging with workers, company management and other stakeholders to ensure a peaceful and fair resolution of the dispute. Authorities have prioritised dialogue, mediation and consensus-building over the use of force, in line with directions from state govt.
To minimise inconvenience to the public, traffic diversions have been implemented in affected areas. Citizens have been advised to avoid unnecessary movement towards protest sites and to use alternative routes.
Heavy security arrangements have been put in place across Noida and adjoining sensitive areas. Adequate deployment of local police, Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC), paramilitary forces and senior officials has been ensured to maintain law and order. Surveillance has also been intensified in neighbouring districts to prevent any spillover effects.
The police have also cracked down on misinformation being circulated through social media. Two X handles have been booked for spreading false and provocative content.
Additionally, more than 50 bot accounts created within the last 24 hours have been identified for allegedly spreading rumours and misleading narratives related to the labour issue.
The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) will conduct a detailed digital investigation into these accounts, with strict legal action promised against those found guilty.
Senior officials have appealed to the public not to believe or share unverified information, videos or messages and to rely only on official sources for updates.
Reiterating the police's commitment, DGP Rajeev Krishna stated that the priority remains resolving the situation through peace, dialogue and sensitivity. He warned that strict legal action would be taken against those involved in violence or damage to public and private property under relevant laws, and compensation for damages would be recovered from the offenders.
