New AKTU VC: Raj Bhawan launches hunt

Lucknow: Raj Bhawan has issued an advertisement inviting applications for the post of vice-chancellor at APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University. The development comes following the removal and subsequent resignation of incumbent Prof PK Mishra.
According to the notice issued by principal secretary to governor, Kalpana Awasthi, candidates can apply online till March 15.
Prof Mishra resigned from his post on February 7 after he was removed by Governor Anandiben Patel. Patel had instituted an inquiry to probe charges of corruption during Prof Mishra’s term. The governor had on January 30 appointed a retired high court judge, Justice SN Agnihotri to probe into the charges of corruption in AKTU during Prof Mishra’s term.
The charges were levelled by former controller of examination (CoE) of the university Anurag Tripathi in retaliation after he was removed by Prof Mishra in December on grounds that he did not fulfil the eligibility.
Tripathi was appointed as CoE by Prof Vinay Kumar Pathak during his term as VC of AKTU. Prof Pathak’s term ended in January 2022. Three days before his removal.
