LUCKNOW: A nine-year-old boy was allegedly kidnapped in Patherwa police station area of

Kushinagar

on Wednesday evening. The family has not received any ransom or threat call so far, police said.

, told TOI that the boy identified as Aditya Verma was returning from his coaching class when two men on a motorcycle abducted him near Ramkula area.

“The father of the kidnapped child, Ajit Verma, works in

Singapore

,” said the officer.

The onlookers told the police that the boy made no screams or noise, showing that the alleged kidnappers were known to him, the officer said. Several police teams have been formed to crack the case.

The incident came to light when Aditya did not reach home and his mother, Sarita Devi, informed the police about it.

“On the call of the mother, a police team immediately rushed to the spot and checked the whole passage from where the child used to return daily from the coaching. The distance between the house and the coaching is barely 500 meters,” said SHO, Patherwa, Atulya Pandey.

Pandey also said that the other children with whom Aditya used to return were also questioned who narrated the same incident as the onlookers.

An FIR under the charges of kidnapping has been registered and efforts are on to nab the miscreants.
