Man resists plastic ban, beats up FSI

Lucknow: A food sanitary inspector (FSI) of Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) was thrashed when he stopped a man from using banned single plastic in Talkatora area on Tuesday.The incident took place at 6.30 pm when FSI Ashish Srivastava was going to inspect drainage cleaning work near the Talkatora mini-stadium. He noticed a man carrying goods in a polybag. He took a photo of him and asked him not to use banned single-use plastic. This led to a verbal spat and the man assaulted Srivastava and fled from the spot. Locals identified the attacker as Sanjay Upadhyay. Srivastava lodged an FIR against the accused with Talkatora police station.
