LUCKNOW: A 24-year-old man brutally attacked his seven-month pregnant wife with a baanka (sharp-edged weapon), killing her on the spot. The attacker also injured his mother when she tried to intervene. Locals overpowered the accused and handed him over to the police.The accused, Ankur Lodhi , was living in a rented house in Dasouli village, Gudamba, with his wife Neelam (22), mother Phoolmati, father Dinesh, sister Chandni, and stepbrother Akash. On Wednesday, their landlord Ram Singh was hosting a bhandara following Vishwakarma Puja, where Ankur was seen distributing food until around 4:30 pm. Shortly afterward, he returned to his room and began arguing with Neelam, the police said.
