Man jumps into Gomti river over tussle with wife, feared drowned

LUCKNOW: With his marriage hitting the rock bottom, a 25-year-old man jumped into Gomti river at Pucca Pul under Chowk police station area on Saturday.
“The man, identified as Lalit Kumar of Saadatganj, worked as a rickshaw-puller and was unhappy with his wife. He took the step after he did not get a way out of the long-standing differences,” said SHO, Chowk, Vishwajeet Singh.
He said Lalit’s parents have accused his wife and father-in-law of pushing him into Gomti river.
Police said a team of State Disaster Relief Force (SDRF) has been pressed into service to fish out the body.
