LUCKNOW: Madhumani Tripathi, wife of former minister Amarmani Tripathi and an accused in the Madhumita Shukla murder case , on Thursday surrendered before the special judicial magistrate (CBI) court of Digvijay Nath and was sent to jail under judicial custody .The magistrate has ordered her appearence before the court on April 8. The court dismissed CBI’s application seeking police remand of Madhumani Tripathi for five days.
Twin applications for providing security and proper medical care to the accused, as she is a blood pressure patient,were also moved on behalf of Madhumani Tripathi, on which the court directed the jail superintendent to do the needful.
Another application against deputy superintendent of police (CBI) Hari Singh for misbehaviour in court campus during surrender, was also moved by Madhumani alleging that he misbehaved as a result of which her hand was injured and mangal sutra broken. The court has fixed April 2 for disposal of this application.
It may be recalled that the CBI had filed a charge sheet against six accused, including Madhumani on December 20 ,but she had been absconding since then.
The other accused are former minister Amarmani Tripathi, Rohit Chaturvedi, Santosh Rai and Prakash Chandra Pandey, who are in judicial custody, and Yagya Narain Dixit, who has been bailed out.
