Lucknow: Third accused held in Dalit girl rape case

LUCKNOW: The third

accused

in the rape of a

Dalit

girl was arrested on Tuesday. He was on the run immediately after he and three others allegedly sexually assaulted the girl at a Naka hotel.


Mufeed Ahmed (25), resident of Chinhat was involved in the crime along with Afzal, Ashraf and Imran, said police. On April 16, the girl was abducted by her friend, Afzal Khan, near Basmandi Chauraha at 11am and she was taken to a nearby hotel where Afzal drugged her.

Later, he called his three friends Ashraf, Imran and Mufeed to the hotel where they gang-raped her and dumped her in the Kaiserbagh area, said police. SHO Naka, Vishwajeet Singh, said "fourth accused Imran is still on the run."
