LUCKNOW: Facing financial problems due to Covid-19 pandemic, father of a class 7 student at a private school on Vidhan Sabha Marg lodged a complaint with the DIoS claiming that the institution has hiked the fee and was forcing parents to pay it.
Taking cognizance of the complaint, district inspector of schools (DIoS) Mukesh Kumar Singh on Saturday issued a notice to the school seeking an explanation.
"I give private tuitions and no students are turning up these days due to lockdown. I am not earning anything. My son's school ran online classes just for a few days and later suspended it citing misbehavior by students as the reason. A few days later, we got the message from school authorities to submit hiked fee, else the student will not be allowed to attend online classes," said Ashutosh.
Finding no other option, Ashutosh decided to lodge a complaint against the school with DIoS.
DIoS Mukesh Kumar Singh said, "No school can hike the fee. It is against the government's direction. I have issued a notice to the school. Action will be taken if the school does not reply to the notice and revoke its decision."
Ashutosh has also written to chief ministerYogi Adityanath seeking his intervention in the matter.
