LUCKNOW: Passengers had a tough time
on-board Lucknow Metro
on Friday evening after the train got stuck at the platform at
Charbagh metro station
for about 25 minutes. According to passengers, the doors did not close and most of them were out on the platform.
"There was no announcement as to when the train would move," said passenger Amit Sharma.
Though the train started moving after 25 minutes, it got stuck again for about eight minutes at the next station, Durgapuri. The train was returning from Charbagh to Transportnagar.
The only announcement being played at the station was that the metro would ply only on the single line, said one of the passengers. "This led the entire crowd stuff inside the train," he added.
It's the second incident after September 6 when
Lucknow metro got stranded putting passengers in lurch.
It's a 18-minute run between Transportnagar and Charbagh, but snags make it pointless to board a metro.
