Lucknow: Conmen use fake hotel site to dupe clients

LUCKNOW: The security manager of a prominent hotel in Gomtinagar lodged a complaint against unidentified men for running a fake booking site of the hotel in which they had given a mobile number and were realizing advance money from the customers.

The complainant, Subrato Bhattacharya, said the incident came to light when a customer from Kanpur contacted them at the time of check in and told the receptionist that she had the advance booking of a room for which she had paid Rs 24,000.

He said the fraudsters had duped several other customers through the fake website.
