Lucknow: An FIR was lodged against a lift maintenance agency after a lift carrying Lucknow Development Authority vice-chairman Prathamesh Kumar and senior engineers malfunctioned during an inspection at CSI Towers in CG City on Thursday evening, briefly triggering panic and raising concerns over high-rise safety.
Officials said the lift developed a technical fault while the team was heading to the 14th floor in B-block. It reportedly jerked and dropped rapidly before stopping, leaving the occupants trapped for a short period until maintenance staff opened the doors and evacuated everyone safely. No injuries were reported.

Officials present in the lift included the chief engineer and other senior engineering staff who were inspecting the under-construction complex. The incident caused anxiety among those inside and commotion at the site.
Taking serious note, Kumar directed officials to lodge an FIR. "Strict action will be taken against those responsible, and a detailed technical audit of lifts on the campus and in other high-rise buildings will be conducted," Kumar said.
