The court had reserved its order on the bail application of Ashish Mishra on January 18.

Ashish has been named as one of the key accused in the violence that took place in Tikunia area of Lakhimpur on October 3.

He was arrested on October 9. Mishra had moved the Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court after his bail plea was rejected by the lower court.

The bail order, passed by Justice Rajiv Singh's bench, was released on Friday.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted to probe the case on the directions of the Supreme Court, has also named Ashish as one of the main accused.

In October, Mishra was named in an FIR following allegations that he was in one of the vehicles that mowed down four farmers protesting over UP deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya's visit. In the ensuing violence, two BJP workers and their driver were allegedly lynched by angry farmers. Local journalist Raman Kashyap also died.
