Lucknow: Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Language University (KMCLU) will award 149 medals and 1,431 degrees to its students during the ninth convocation ceremony to be held on Monday. The rehearsals for the convocation ceremony were held on the campus on Sunday.
The two most coveted medals of the university were won by male students. Khwaja Moinnudin Chishti's gold medal for scoring the highest in languages (Urdu, Arbi, Farsi) at the undergraduate level was won by Mohammad Zabihullah, while the Chancellor Medal, awarded to the student scoring highest in all faculties, will be awarded to Shubham Kumar Singh. Both the top medal winners won a total of three medals, including the coveted ones.
Vice chancellor Prof NB Singh said the Director General of CIPET, Prof Shishir Sinha, will be the chief guest along with the minister of higher education, Yogendra Upadhyay.
The Vice-Chancellor announced that the university will establish the Awadh research chair, through which work will be done for the development of the folk culture and language of the region.
Singh said that the university has so far signed 40 policies and 54 memoranda of understanding (MOUs), of which two MOUs are of international level. In the upcoming session, the Indian language department will be established, in which languages like Gujarati, Bengali, Marathi, Punjabi, and Tamil will be taught.
