LUCKNOW: IPS officer Rajesh Pandey took charge as new district police chief on Tuesday. Soon after taking charge Pandey recalled his days in the city when he served here in different capacities. Addressing the media he said, “Crime cannot be controlled by one man. The whole team plays a crucial role in giving citizens a crime-free atmosphere.”
Talking about the crime situation in the district he said the nature and style of crime have changed and the police department must also adhere to the newer technologies to combat criminals.

But he also stressed need to develop a strong network of manual intelligence to solve the most crucial cases.
Talking about arrangements for the upcoming month of Ramzaan he assured media persons that good relations are key to handle any adverse situation.
On his priorities, he said checking the growing rate of cyber crime and ensuring security of women and aged people would be his first aim. When reporters asked him about his new drive to manage traffic situation in city, he said, “A lot can be achieved only if the existing ones are run with honest intentions.”
