Int’l Trade Fair to showcase UP as food basket of India

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh International Trade Fair, slated to be held from September 21 to 25, will prominently feature the food and dairy sectors.
Companies that have confirmed their participation include Patanjali, Haldiram, Priya Gold, Bikanerwala, Vaidyanath, Ritual Foods, Fresh Foods, Augustia Foods, Indian Beekeeper Shri Girija, Paras, Amul, Prime Foods, Gyan Dairy, Creamy Food Fair Export etc. The government will also be giving priority to rural, small-scale, and cottage industries associated with food, agriculture, and dairy products.
A government spokesperson said that the state would be presented as the ‘food basket of India’ at a global stage through the event.
“Companies from sectors like food, dairy, and agriculture will receive priority. This will not only enhance the branding of these companies but will also pave the way for them to access a broader, global market,” he said.
One of the sessions to be held during the event will be dedicated to the success journey of Mumbai’s ‘Dabbawalas’. Pawan Agrawal from IEML will share insights about the Dabbawalas.
