In a tragic incident, a six-month-old boy fell from the lap of his mother and died after a tempo hit the bicycle on which his mother was travelling.

LUCKNOW: In a tragic incident, a six-month-old boy fell from the lap of his mother and died after a tempo hit the bicycle on which his mother was travelling. The incident took place at around 1.30 on Sunday afternoon under Bakshi-Ka-Talab police station area.
Sher Ali, a resident of ward number 1 under Itaunja police station area, stated in his FIR that he, along with his wife, Gudiya, were travelling on a bicycle.

His wife was holding their six-month-old boy, Chand, in her lap while sitting on the carrier of the bicycle. No sooner than they reached Bhainsamau turn, a tempo (UP 32-Z 6773) came from behind and hit the bicycle. The impact of the accident resulted in the boy slipping from the lap of Sher Ali's wife and falling on the road. The boy died on the spot.
When the police were informed about the incident, they nabbed the tempo driver.
In another development, a 36-year-old man committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree under Mohanlalganj police station area on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday.
The victim was identified as Ramu, a resident of Newalkheda village under Mohanlalganj police station area. According to Ramu's father, Dayaram, on Saturday night, Ramu came back home in an inebriated condition and indulged in an altercation with the family members.
The family members asked him not to do so. Fed up with the reprimand, Ramu left the house and a few metres away from his house, he committed suicide by hanging himself from a mango tree. The police were informed about the incident and they are investigating the matter.
