Hike will motivate to perform better, say shiksha mitras
Lucknow: Shiksha mitras (contractual para teachers) and anudeshaks (instructors) have hailed Yogi govt for the massive hike in their monthly honorarium.State govt on Friday hiked the honorarium of shiksha mitras from Rs 10,000 to Rs 18,000 and that of ‘anudeshak' from Rs 9,000 to Rs 17,000 per month. The state has 1.43 lakh shiksha mitras and 24,781 anudeshaks. Expressing gratitude to chief minister Yogi Adityanath, a shiksha mitra from Moradabad said: "Inflation impacted our daily lives. Running a house with Rs 10,000 was difficult. With this hike, there will be some financial stability." Echoing similar sentiments, Sukhjit Singh from Ayodhya said: "Additional money will help in improving the quality of our lives." Another shiksha mitra, Hina Kausar, said the better pay will keep her motivated towards work. Two other shiksha mitras, Surbhi Gupta and Sarita Varshney, said: "The hike will ensure a better standard of living. It will also boost our confidence and enhance efficiency." The hike will entail an additional financial burden of over Rs 1,480 crore, to be borne by both state and central govts. A govt spokesperson said: "Better pay will strengthen the quality of education, especially in rural and remote areas."
