Guv pushes for timely admissions

Lucknow: Fewer admissions in Lucknow University (LU)-affiliated colleges prompted governor and chancellor Anandiben Patel to direct college officials to conduct admissions in a timely manner. She also said that the recruitment should be done for vacant posts.During a review meeting held at Gandhi auditorium in Jan Bhawan with principals of govt and aided colleges affiliated with LU on Tuesday, Patel stressed on accountability, infrastructure upgrades, research expansion and timely appointments. She directed colleges to work on overall development.Principals from 17 govt colleges and 33 aided colleges attended the meeting.During the review, the governor sought details on teacher strength, books authored by faculty, student participation in sports, academic tours and plantation activities.
