Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh witnessed a landmark moment in its aviation history on Saturday as the first official flight took off from the runway of Noida International Airport, Jewar, marking the inauguration of its first phase. The inaugural flight was operated by the state govt aircraft, carrying Governor Anandiben Patel and chief minister Yogi Adityanath from Noida to Lucknow. Officials said the flight symbolised the formal operational beginning of the much-awaited airport. Described as a "historic milestone," the launch is expected to significantly improve connectivity between western Uttar Pradesh and the state capital, reducing travel time and boosting economic activity. Authorities believe the development will facilitate greater trade, investment, and ease of movement for passengers.
