Green ride: Kukrail night safari work to begin in April

Lucknow: The first phase of construction and development of Kukrail Night Safari and Adventure Park will begin in April. The planning department's technical cell prepared the master plan of the report, according to which, phase one will complete within two years, involving the construction of enclosures for 38 species of animals, an amusement activity area, an administration block, a 7D theatre, an art gallery, entry gateways, a cafeteria, an entrance plaza, a quarantine ward, a veterinary hospital and five residential blocks for staff.
After the construction is complete, a modern CCTV surveillance system, public address system and integrated building management system will be developed and executed at the site.
A tram service will also be made available to visitors at the night safari, for which tram storage and running lines will be developed at every enclosure.
The first phase of the project will cost more than Rs 631 crore. The entire project will be completed in two phases. Govt has approved more than Rs 1,500 crore for the project. Kukrail Night Safari and Adventure Park will be developed over 34.59 lakh sq metres (855.07 acres), while enclosures for wildlife will be constructed over 65,254 sq metres.
Enclosures will be built for lions, Bengal tigers, leopards, sloth bears, chinkara, black buck, hog deer, swamp deer, wild boar, hippopotamus, flying squirrels, African buffaloes, palm civets, wolves, caracals, striped hyenas and otters.
Director's bungalow and five types of residential blocks will be constructed in the first phase, for veterinary doctors, fire fighting units and staff to reside in.
Roads, landscaping, boundary walls, footpaths, parking, sports amenities, water outlets, a 7D theatre with a seating capacity of 200 people, an art gallery, three entry gateways, ticket counters, 10 toilet blocks, four kiosk blocks and cabins for security guards will also be constructed in the first phase.
