Christian Shumate's wardrobe malfunction goes viral during McNeese State’s game against Purdue Boilermakers

Christian Shumate of the McNeese State suffered a wardrobe malfunction at the match against the Purdue Boilermakers and now the moment has gone viral. The McNeese State were already facing a tough time on the court when at 17 minutes and 9 seconds left, McNeese’s star player, Christian Shumate suffered a wardrobe malfunction that was caught on camera.

CBS Sports posted the viral video on X with a caption that read as, “Christian Shumate's jersey was torn to shreds 😂” and fans cant stop making jokes about it.A fan commented, “Someone get Shumate his Gucci flip-flops”, while another fan wrote, “UA probably outsourced the jersey to be made by Fanatics so it's paper thin.”A third fan wrote, “#MarchMadness took that literally 💥”
In the video that has now gone viral, Christian Shumate was seen wearing a blank No.22 jersey as his No.24 jersey was completely ripped. The video shows the McNeese State’s team personnel handing over the blank No. 22 jersey to Christian Shumate as they take his ripped jersey and examine it. Christian Shumate is shown wasting no time and getting back to the match. This shows how determined and focused he was at the match against the Purdue Boilermakers. The clip then goes on to show that an unnamed manager is running with another pair of jerseys for Christian Shumate.
But for Christian Shumate, the drama did not really stop there. Just a few minutes later as the Purdue Boilermakers were leading at 48-28, Will Wade, the coach of McNeese State was seen screaming at the officials as Christian Shumate was called for a foul against Trey Kaufman-Renn.But Will Wade was not alone; even Christian Shumate joined his coach and both of them were called for technical foulsChristian Shumate averages 6.4 rebounds and 10.6 points per game but it seems like even his efforts could not help his team, the McNeese State today.
