LUCKNOW: Another law student was apprehended on Sunday in connection with the murder of Prashant Singh, the 20-year-old engineering dropout who was fatally stabbed in
Gomtinagar Extension
on Thursday, taking the total number of arrests to three.
Tarun Singh (19), the son of a businessman, was rounded up from his residence in Mahanagar. He studies in the same private university where the victim, his friends and the accused studied or study.
Earlier, Aman Bahadur, son of former BSP MLA, was arrested on Friday and law student Abhishek Pandey nabbed on Saturday.
Additional DCP (East) Amit Kumar said CCTV footage showed Tarun and the others breaking windows of the SUV in which Prashant was seated minutes before he was stabbed.
ACP (Gomtinagar) Santosh Kumar Singh said police were probing who tipped off Arpan about where Prashant was going in SUV. The driver of the vehicle will be quizzed again and a team had been set up to nab the others, the ACP added.
