VARANASI: The Chetganj cops on Thursday sealed a restaurant where flesh trade was allegedly being encouraged by the owner in Pishachmochan area. The police arrested a couple, found in compromising position, while the restaurant owner managed to escape.
SP (city) Vijay Bhushan said the police had received anonymous complaints from locals against Ankur Restaurant operating near a cinema hall in Pishachmochan area.
Taking serious note of it, the Chetganj police raided the restaurant on Thursday afternoon. Before the police could reach there, the restaurant owner fled from the scene.
The police arrested a couple from this restaurant. The restaurant employees were released after interrogation. During police investigation, it came to light that the restaurant owner was making money by allowing flesh trade. The restaurant was sealed. It may be recalled here that several restaurants had also been sealed in Chetganj, Orderly Bazaar and other areas by the police in past several months following detection of similar malpractices.
