Firefighters, cops rescue five of family trapped in massive blaze
LUCKNOW: Five persons, including three children, were rescued by a team of police and fire department personnel after they got trapped in a massive blaze that broke out in a
Police said the blaze broke out at the office of Lucknow Electric Merchant Association on the second floor of Teerath Leela Bhawan in Kaiserbagh around 9.45am. Within no time, the flames engulfed the third floor where the family of the building’s caretaker lives.
Teams of police and fire department, led by inspector, Kaiserbagh, Anand Kumar Shukla and fire officer Yogendra, rushed to the spot. “It was a scary scene. The victims were crying on top of their voice and were facing difficulty in breathing. The police team surrounded the building as flames leapt high,” said Mohammed Aslam, a local resident.
“We somehow managed to gain access to the portion of the building where the family was trapped. We rescued them and doused the fire,” said SHO, Kaiserbagh, Anand Shukla.
The rescued persons were identified as Jai Prakash Gupta, Puja Gupta, Arti Gupta (12), Vansh Gupta (8) and Laddu Gupta (4). Shukla said the family had been shifted to
