Family meets Rajnath, seeks help for tracing missing BLO
Lucknow: The family of a missing ‘shiksha mitra' and BLO has approached defence minister and Lucknow MP Rajnath Singh seeking intervention to trace him.Dilip Kumar Singh of Jankipuram, who worked as a ‘shiksha mitra' and booth level officer (BLO), left his house on Feb 23 morning but did not return. According to family members, his mobile phone was switched off shortly after he stepped out, and there was no contact since then.Police traced his last mobile location near Anora Kala after which the phone was switched off, and no further location was tracked.Concerned over slow progress of investigation, Singh's wife and family members, along with Bakshi-ka-Talab MLA Yogesh Shukla met Rajnath on Friday (March 13) and requested him to direct the police administration to intensify efforts to trace the missing man. Rajnath assured the family that he would ask officials to expedite the search.MLA Yogesh Shukla also visited the family at their residence and assured them of all possible help. The legislator said he was in touch with the administration and asked officials to speed up search operation."The disappearance of shiksha mitra Dilip Singh since Feb 23 is a matter of concern. Despite continuous efforts by the police administration, his whereabouts remain unknown, leaving his entire family in a state of anxiety and distress," Shukla wrote on X.
Police said a report was filed at Jankipuram police station and teams were deployed to locate Singh. Investigators are scanning CCTV footage from nearby areas and questioning locals to gather clues.Family said Singh was engaged in the special intensive revision (SIR) work.Police said all possible angles were being examined and efforts were underway to trace him.
