LUCKNOW: A committee headed by the secretary, higher education Avanish Kumar Awasthi at a meeting held on Saturday heard pending proposals related to starting subjects and courses in degree colleges at the graduate and postgraduate level for the academic session 2011-12. Representatives of degree colleges were also present at the meeting. In the meeting, as many as 95 matters were heard.
Secretary, higher education after examining the proposals, found that in 40 proposals after all formalities regarding affiliation were completed, the universities did not intimate the government, which caused unnecessary delay. Besides, several matters came to the knowledge of the government, where even after election of the managing committee of the degree colleges, the same could not be sent to the university for verification.
In this connection, the secretary besides fixing a process has prepared a time frame for the disposal of all proposals regarding all courses except the B.Ed course. Under this arrangement, the department has fixed August 30 as the last date for making available proposals of temporary or permanent affiliation of colleges to the universities. On the other hand September 5 is the last date for the universities to submit the proposals to the government.
