Lucknow: The cabinet approved the setting up of a new dairy plant with a capacity of 20,000 litres per day in Banda district under the Bundelkhand package. Clearance was also given to expand the dairy plant in Jhansi from 10,000 to 30,000 litres per day.
Indian Dairy Machinery Company Ltd was nominated as the executing agency for the projects to carry out civil and mechanical works on a turnkey basis. The company will be provided centage charges, and the state govt will bear the expenditure.
The cabinet also greenlit infrastructure development for the Integrated Manufacturing and Logistics Cluster (IMLC) in Meerut under the Atal Industrial Infrastructure Mission, with a budget of around Rs 213.81 crore. Under the Industrial Corridor Project, Integrated Manufacturing and Logistics Clusters are being developed at 29 locations along expressways developed by the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority in the state, including the Agra-Lucknow Expressway, Purvanchal Expressway, Bundelkhand Expressway, Gorakhpur Link Expressway and the under-construction Ganga Expressway.
The approved project for the Meerut node includes the construction of roads, RCC drains, culverts, a fire station, an underground reservoir, water supply lines, fencing, and electricity arrangements - all to be done on an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) mode. A new four-lane bridge with approach roads is set to connect Trans Ganga City with Kanpur City, spanning the Ganga River. The project, approved by the cabinet, falls under the Atal Industrial Infrastructure Mission.
A govt spokesperson stated that the new bridge has been designed to alleviate traffic congestion on the existing Ganga Barrage route, anticipating increased vehicle movement once Trans Ganga City is developed.
A proposal to provide land subsidy to TI Medicals Pvt Ltd was also approved under the Medical Device Manufacturing unit being established under the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority area.
The company will establish a medical device manufacturing unit with an investment of approximately Rs 215.2 crore on 4.48 hectares of land in Gautam Buddha Nagar.
The project was proposed under the state's FDI, FCI and Fortune India-500 Investment Promotion Policy-2023. The company will be given a subsidy of Rs 14.77 crore. A proposal to amend the Uttar Pradesh Beggary Prevention Act was approved in compliance with a May 7, 2025, order of the Supreme Court. According to the proposal, provisions related to leprosy will be removed from Section 21 of the Act. They will be aligned with the Mental Healthcare Act, 2017, so that the law conforms to modern health and human rights standards.
The amendment is expected to help eliminate discrimination against persons affected by leprosy. The proposed Uttar Pradesh Beggary Prevention (Amendment) Bill, 2026, will be presented in the State Legislature for further action.
