Lucknow: All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) on Tuesday decided to provide legal assistance, expert advice and aid to the Anjuman Intezamiya Masajid fighting a court battle in the Gyanvapi Masjid-Shringar Gauri dispute.
The board, which claims to be a representative of various Muslim sects in the country, convened an emergency online meeting of its 51 working committee members on Tuesday night.

The AIMPLB also decided to create political intervention in the defence of Places of Worship Act 1991 which it claimed was being overlooked by the courts.
The board had earlier on Monday said that Gyanvapi mosque was a mosque and would remain so.
“It's nature cannot be changed under the conspiracy to do so by communal forces,” the board has declared.
"A legal committee under our legal cell has been formed which will be responsible for providing expertise, support and legal aid to the Muslim side in court, even though AIMPLB is not a party in the case itself," said board member Syed Qasim Rasool Ilyas.
The committee will present its report in three days.
"The board also decided to speak to various political parties to stand up and speak for the safeguarding of the Places of Worship Act 1991 which was formed as an act of parliament. The courts are disregarding the law and going over and beyond its folds in violation of the 1991 Act," he added.
